SLIMLINE FOLDING CHAIR
This folding chair eliminates cross-bracing by achieving stability through an entirely different principle. The seat and back are made of reinforced plastic and are hinged along the centre. When the side frames are pulled apart, the seat and back fold flat. They are then aligned at right angles, so that the two planes stiffen one another through the side frames. The weight of the seated person locks the chair in position. The possibility that the central hinge might ‘nip’ is eliminated by enclosing the stop mechanism within a cylinder.
